Serviced the Defender. New oil, air & fuel filters. Fresh new lovely oil.

I've also taken the bonnet off, de-rusted, rust treated  the underside and gave it an under coat ready for fresh paint tomorrow.

With the dog, to the vet. Dog sedated and whoozy on the way back ( stitches in leg)  - crap everywhere, including in my toolbag.  Among other feats he's managed to neatly fill the 27mm wheel-nut socket.  The jump leads look like a particularly colourful Spaghetti Bolognaise.

Lucky its all hose-able, including the dog.... !

He's fine thanks !  Not enjoying life in a lampshade tho !

....and I started taking off the old rear springs from the S3 we bought from Paddy ages ago. Replacing them with parabolics. Originals were well and truly shot.

As long as everybody is ok, car/caravan can be replaced :)

Simple jobs that take ages.... Fixed the dud indicator. Its been playing up since the drive home from the last MOT....when the garage fixed it to get it through the MOT. Which was odd, because it was fine when it drove there....

Anyway, opened it up to find that the garage had added several extra connectors and re-routed the earth. Worked back through it to find a broken connection on the feed and that the new earth was a dud too. Stripped out their handiwork back to the original wiring, added a foot or so of cable to the lamp to give myself some elbow room and connected it all back up. Works fine.

Ho hum.

Believe me, that was easy. If you only need a carpenters hammer it isn't hard! :o :o :o
