Dont buy a battery from Halfords if you can help it.

I take it you are buying a Leisure battery and not a car battery. They are subtle differences and its all down to the charging and the retention of the charge. Leisure batteries are normally more expensive.

I bought a 110Ah battery for the van when I put the mover on the 80Ah would just about cope withe the van's needs but not the mover and the van. I did not toss away the 80Ah just hooked it up in parallel so I have nearly 190Ah capacity on the van.

I got mine off ebay about ?60 plus postage(it was covered with stamps :D :D)but definitely less than ?80

Try Towsure,or maybe Burnhouse Caravans down the A737 they seemed reasonable for caravan gear

One other possibility is Dingbro, the are supposed to be trade only but I am sure you can brassneck it. You can get a new battery for ?30 for a Peugot 206, Halfords are a tad more than that

Hope it helps,

Tommy

John,
you should be able to get a 110 Ah leisure battery at a Motor Factor or Caravan shop for the same money as that 85 Ah, & get some comeback if you get a dud.

Doug & Tommy glad to see you have managed to secure time off/away for the weekend, however I also like the idea of the sunday night as well and come back monday

I mean if we are spending all that on fuel etc then might as well get the most out of it.

Do the same rates apply to the sunday night at the Strontian, real mens, Camp Site? John please note this as it is not called The Strontian Tin Tent Site just incase your paying by cheque you understand ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Glad to see you got a battery sorted out John does this mean Doug can use his mic and speakers when telling his jokes to all the assembled Campers and Tin Tenters after the bbq ;D ;D ;D ;D

You could always just bring beer and take the Bear Grylls guide to eating on the wilds, the odd coat eye never hurt anyone. I'm judt raging I'm not going, sounds like the making of a good weekend
