Hey folks,

Got a puncture the other day, and noticed 'again' how bad my carrier is for rust, theres a 3"x2" hole above the bottom stud (I did attack it with a wire brush before and hammerite).

Anyway, what can I do to fix this, is welding the best option or can I get a replacement new or used?


Also what are Bearmach springs and pro-comp gas shocks like?

i replaced my discos carrier. paddocks and craddocks have them. may have to call them, cant remember if its listed on website but they do stock them

Speek to  drh as he has jumbo,s old disco might do you a deal!!!

That went on to my last one when I broke a stud trying to get the wheel off!  Most of tbe rest of the car's there (apart from the underside that's being shoveled up on a weekly basis)  It's quite amazing how good this car was on the top side - underside was a different matter.  No wonder Doug slates Disco's

i do still like discos, they are the best allrounder.....just a pity they dont stay around for long they are designed to rust

Anyone offer advice on Bearmach gear?

d44 do a nice one a bit pricey though but worth it

 i have ran pro comp gas shock + 2 inch for 3 year with no probs
i prefer brit par hd springs over the bearmach ones   how ever if your not going for a lift you carnt go wrong with the oe heavy duty ones
