Yes Jim , one person in the vehicle must be a paid up club member - £25 for the year -  and the event itself is £10.

Cheers,

Gene.

Not sure quite what you mean by "off-road". Technically its all forest road....just that some of them are a tad "deteriorated".  Probably a mile or two of the rough stuff as loops off from 25+ miles of decent track ?

"Not sure quite what you mean by "off-road""

Sorry I should have said "not public highway" bit.
So roughly 25/26 miles with optional loops.

I'm trying to get an ideal of distance so I know how much fuel I need with me, (so I don't embarrass myself running out in the forest!)

Many Thanks, looking forward to it :)

Fuel is available at Aberfoyle which will be the start point. Country prices so start off with a full tank of Morrisons Finest !

Now that I've checked the route is all open I can post the proper details - but yes, the spot we use for most runs in that area - the big car-park behind the woollen mill for 10am.

Proper "Details post after I've had a bite to eat !

Right, completed a the final recce this afternoon, the elves have cleared a few trees that were in the way last week...

Score is as normal - 10 am on Sunday 3rd March, meet at the large car-park behind the Woollen Mill in Aberfoyle. There is fuel available ( Grangemouth strikes permitting !) and  a range of shops, toilets etc for a pre-departure comfort break.

1 SLROC member per vehicle, £10 per vehicle for the clubs 3rd party Insurance and landowners fees. (SLROC membership forms available at sign-on)

We'll split into groups of 4-5 vehicles and set off at intervals to avoid the "rolling roadblock" syndrome. Route will be "arrowed" and you'll have a map.

Bring a packed lunch or I can recommend the Byre Inn and the Tearoom in Brig o' Turk which are just off the route, for a good lunch.
Vehicle needs no special amendments but if you have a decent tow-rope etc bring it, just in case.

Depending on what bit you drive expect in excess of 25 miles of scenic and interesting driving among some superb scenery. Most is good gravel track, optional excursions onto rougher stuff. The rougher bits should cause no issues if you drive sensibly, your choice.

See you on Sunday !
