Vacuum pump
« on: November 11, 2013, 09:22:26 PM »
I am currently carrying out a full rebuild on my 200tdi, I took the vacuum pump out without marking it. Now after reading manual, this has to be marked prior to removal, so the cam and skew gear realign when fitting. The cam turns 350 degreas the catches on the bottom of the vaccum pump and jams. Any ideas how to realign the corresponding teeth?

Time consuming but turn pump one tooth at a time until you get idle shaft to rotate fully.

Hope this helps
