Front End Suspention Problem
« on: November 01, 2013, 08:02:23 PM »
hi guys I'm new to the forum so I'm really hoping someone can help, I own a 53 plate range rover vogue & I work abroad at times, my problem is, I was away for six weeks and when I returned my battery was flat, I gave it a jump & everything was good, I only drove around 20 miles in 3 weeks & I went away again this time for 6 weeks, when I returned again the battery was flat, it took around 20 minutes of jump start before it started only this time by suspension wouldn't rise at the front end, also my brakes weren't working & I detected a fluid leak. I goggled the suspension fault and its telling me the usual turn the steering wheel hard left & right but to no avail. I popped in to pentland landrover & they told me they are £102 per hour & this is just to look at it without repairs.   I'm hoping you lovely people can give me a solution. also I know it sounds crazy but could the suspension problem & brake fluid problem be related ?. please help.

It could very well be related. The air suspension ECU will have a fault code stored for low brake fluid warning (if the red light is on) which may prevent the suspension from working. Easy way to check is to refill the brake fluid, and see if it starts working again

thanks for the quick reply ill give that a try. only other problem is the day after I took it for a 10 minute spin with no brakes the next day there was a puddle of brake fluid so im not sure if I can top up the fluid or if its just going to pour straight out. I might end up taking it to a main dealer for a look but I really wanted to avoid this if possible.

as it sits along time it would be of value to buy a hawkeye or nanocm

hawkeye /nanocom diagnostic tool is purpose built for land rover i dont leave home without it
easy diagnostics of ems / air suspension /bcu /live data /system checks etc etc  why pay £40 to 60 quid +half hour labour when you can do it yourself at home or anywhere else saved many d2s from the big yellow taxi

Maybe not explaining myself fully,
I understand what the Nanocomm or Hawkeye is all about, have used them myself a couple of times.

What I was trying to understand is the relevance that because it was "sitting a while" the Nanocomm or hawkeye was a good way to go.

not sure if the nanocom works on the L322 rangerover, the hawkeye "should"
Started out with nothing,
Still have most of it left
