Intermittent wipe and wiper self parking stopped working

As title - how to cure and is it easy to DIY on a 1996 TDi300
On my drive now - Zanzibar Bronze Evoque 5 door Dynamic Lux Plus with Intelligence & Black Packs with Tan interior
Gone - Fuji White RR Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux Plus
Staying - 1996 Epsom Green TDi 300 CHT that is now a CSW

Well worth checking the self park switch on the wiper motor. (white plastic rectangular thing where the wires go onto the motor)

In case you don't know, the wiper motor is behind the panel on the N/S of the dashboard where the standard speaker location is.
