V8 not starting

Starting to run out of ideas, would a faulty dizzy amp stop ignition from sparking ?
Checked everything else all seems good, only concern is 12v at the neg on the coil.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes. You can check the amplifier output to the coil with  test lamp (I can't remember the exact  procedure - last time I did it I had a proper Auto electrician leaning over my shoulder), or if your car has an electronic rev counter, does the needle move when you crank the engine ?
