Classic RR brakes
« on: May 18, 2013, 11:13:26 AM »
Hi,

I'm having some trouble with the brakes on my Classic RR based comp safari car.

It will bleed up but the pedal goes to the floor and the brakes hardly bite.

Master cylinder look OK inside.

Does anyone know how the twin pipe front calipers should be piped up?

Thanks

Frustrated :(

Hi is it twin pipes to the rear as well and are you running a abs system?

Hi,

Twin pipes at front, single to rear, split on axle and no abs.

4 port master cylinder, with one rear port blanked off.

Cheers

A.

I don't have a range rover manual to hand.... but the 200tdi disco had a similar system.
The 300tdi is very different!

It had a master cylinder with 4 pipes (2 each side), piped as follows:
- side nearest the wing (right-hand-drive, so offside wing): 2 pipes going to the off-side front brake:
     - Front pipe to rear flexi, rear pip to front flexi.
     - front flexi to top pipe at the hub, rear flexi to the lower pipe at the hub,
     - Top pipe to the innermost connector on the caliper, the lower pipe to the outermost

- engine side: two pipes run across the engine-bay to the other wing.
     - rear pip direct to rear flexi, front pipe to 3-way connector
     - three-way connector then connects to the front flexy, and the rear brakes (through a pressure-reducer)

Does that help?
