In some Disco-1 models, they had an aerial in the drivers-side rear window..... where did the signal booster sit?

It's allegedly bolted in, above the window.  That's the best I can come up with :o

Yeh its bolted in (10mm) which is also the earth, the cable from the connector on the window to the booster is about 3 inches long so that will give you an idea there it is, there is a ribbed sleve you will have to push in towards the booster to get the aerial lead off.
I changed mine and the signal was still bad so ive fitted a shark fin booster on the roof. sorted.

How easy was it to do the shark fin?  Like the look of them.

Drilled a hole at rear of roof and connected it to the live feed and aerial cable from the old booster, took longer to get the roof cloth down than to do the job.
