had mates discovery 4 out in snow today great on snow/ice up hill but when it came going down hill even with hill desent control on and in snow program on consol it was verry un responsif and out of control skidding and slideing it was a broon trouser moment i can say im disipointed with it and wont be doing it again in hurry. its on starndard preilli zero 20"s ave had landys for years never experenced this b 4
would better tyres have helped or chains ?

The tyresfitted would really not have helped you, no car can invent grip that isn't there.
AT tyres or winters would make a big difference, that car is still the best part of 3 tonnes - it's not going to be an easy one to stop

i have had my disco three for six months been out in the snow twice and never again, certainly not on the toyo all terain tyres it has on it, i think it is just too heavy, great tow car and motorway muncher tho

yep im thinking tyres dident help today as auto box my prefrence in manuel box my old trusty 110 would do same hill no bother in 2nd low box ill think ill buy another landy of my own and use that

tyres make a huge difference - got snow tyres on a mondeo and it sails up the snow covered road to the house no probs, but the wife's 4x4 (not landy) on "normal" tyres is slithering about
