Hi guys

Currently playing the dodgy game of "will it start in the morning" with 3.9 disco, and considering its hitting about -5C up here in Aberdeen at the moment i fear i may loose the battle any day now!

Been looking into Optima batterys and the likes. Has anybody got one and if so are they really worth the extra cash? OR should i just take it to Kwikfit and get one there? Or can i get a better deal somewhere else? Halfords?

Any feedback would be useful

If your engine and electrical system are in good fettle, then a standard battery in good condition should work OK.  If you are in doubt or want the extra piece of mind, then one of the gel filled Optima or Exide Maxima will work a treat (but are they worth the thick end of £100.00 more than a standard version ?)

Ah! Classic! Just went to try and start and i lost the game  :(

Phoned Unipart and Kwikfit and Kwik were 20 quid cheaper for the same 3 year warranty and i can have it today.

Cheers for the input chaps but looks like my mind has been made up for me. Will wait for the girlfriend to get home to give me a jump then go and get it.

Went to get battery, turns out they didnt have any in stock so they asked the unipart round the corner for one, so i got the unipart battery for the kwikfit price. Result!
