I think it will be awfully slow at 265:1 gear ratio which is what gives it a 12000lb load rating. My goodwinch is 173:1 which is often commented upon for being so much quicker than a lot of others.

I usually find that if you get a lot for your money then it isn't going to be the best quality, have a look at goodwinch and ask for show prices as you can't get down to one, he gave me a healthy discount.

Many thanks for the advice, will bear the gearing in mind, already have a bumper so may be a bit tied to which winch I go for.
