as the tittle
what is the difference why do people put the
disco transfere into the defender????

Only difference is the ratio, a disco box will give you quieter cruising than a defender one. However the defender is a bit less streamlined than the disco so sometimes a few tweaks to help raise the power to combat the higher ratio is a good idea.

a 90 with a disco transfer box goes ok a 110 witha disco box is a bit dour mine is a tweeked 300 tdi 110 with big intercooler and big tyres and it couldnt cope with a disco transfer box so had to go  back to standard. i believe a td5 110 benefits from a discovery transfer box.
