Next Green Road Run, Miles and miles of tracks on the Army Training Area at Garelochhead, north of Helenburgh. Exact timing etc later.
1 paid up Club member per vehicle.

Should be a chance of some good "extras" on top of the normal scenic drive. Good views down onto the Faslane Sub base for those who like boats... but I prefer this sort of view...

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

Really enjoyed this run when it was run in the spring. Stunning scenery and we had a sunny day. I won't make it to this one  - I'll be working in sunny India, Madras - so should be good for a decent curry!
On my drive now - Zanzibar Bronze Evoque 5 door Dynamic Lux Plus with Intelligence & Black Packs with Tan interior
Gone - Fuji White RR Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux Plus
Staying - 1996 Epsom Green TDi 300 CHT that is now a CSW

OK, Start point is the layby on the A817 1 mile east of Faslane for 10.30 Sunday. 1 SLROC member per vehicle, £10, a camera and a packed lunch !

Cheers,

Gene.

I'll be dropping by for this one also  ;D

Haven't been to one ever, so it'll be interesting to see what is what
for when the area I am working on becomes available sometime
next year for hosting events like this!

See you all there!

Not sure how I get a postcode for the middle of nowhere  ! Heres a map!

You are looking for the layby/track junction where the track from spot height 197 hits the A817.  If you are up for it the yellow roads make a more interesting approach than the red...

No, that puts you in the middle of Garelochhead.

If you are coming from Glasgow/Balloch, as you are driving along the A82 beside Loch Lomond you pass by the roundabout at Balloch and then the one to Helensburgh, pass the first turning on the left then you will come to an island in the road and a turning to the left signposted Garelochhead A817 (A814).

You will go quite steeply uphill and carry on along this road (about 5 or 6 miles) until you get a sharp left hand turn, steep uphill then down and immediately uphill. At the top of this hill (before it goes back down), you should see a few Landrovers parked up on the left hand side, and a house in the middle of nowhere on its own on the right. The bit on the left is the meet point.

If you go down and see faslane on your left and get to a roundabout, you have gone too far.
