Mudmaster 2012
« on: October 07, 2012, 05:59:29 PM »
Another fantastic event - Mudmaster 2012 - 2 fabulous days off roading and 2 fabulous days of sunshine!  A huge thanks to Donald Urquhart and Alex Lindsay for the effort they put into organising this event.  Thanks also to all the marshalls that help out and for once they had dry weather!!

Well done to Colin + Ross (1st Overall), Martin + Mhari (1st SLroc), Ruari + Louise (1st Challenge) and all the other trophy winners!

Great to see such a huge turnout this year from all parts of the UK!

Thanks again and look forward to doing it all again next year!!

Ann + Allan.

P.s Thanks to the Shug, Lorna, Ruari, Graeme + Hannah for letting us kip on the floor  ;D

A huge thankyou to all those who help to put this event together. The guys who set the courses, the marshalls, the paperwork - so much is done to put together a fantastic event. It was great to see such a good turn out with the Yorkshire & N.Irlend club (I'm sure there were folks from even further) memebers making the extra effort to come and take part. That surely in itself speaks for how good this event is.
I notice that the leaf sprung hard core gave the tricked up defenders a good run for the money - Well done Martin & Mhairi for the Series 2a to be 2nd overall!

If you haven't tried it, get yourself signed up for the next event - I know we will be.
Time for a hot bath to soak away the aches and pains from 2 days bouncing around  ;D

Team Treble - Ruari & Louise
Karis 110 - The perfect way to get a MTB to the top of the hill.
Power to the pedal!

It was a joy to marshal on this years event, competitors were unfailingly friendly and very much up for the challenge.
I was lucky enough to see some excellent performances where I was on Saturday at the final Twechar section, there were also, happily, any number of competitors who provided recovery.
To highlight anyone would merely be to commit crimes of omission.
And the Sun shone  :)

Great to be a trivial cog....

Thank you

As above great weekend big thanks to all including the gemm boys who supported the event financially as well as physically, always there when you need them just like last year when they pulled me to the roadside for the rac to find me  >:( Marshalls were brilliant as was my navigator big thanks to him Ross Thayne . All in all Great Weekend and would recommend it to everyone. So much so my wife has volunteered to navigate next year as Ross will be running his own motor.

Thanks again Bill

Must have been easy this year though Bill, we both finished under our own steam rather than on the back of AA/RAC trucks. :o :o

Joking apart, big thanks to the organisors. Must say thanks to Bill for asking me to navigate. It was a great way to break yourself in to such an event. And well done Ross & Colin, both Bill and I will provide some serious competition next year now we know what we're doing  ;)

Yep, crackin event. Thanks again to all the organisers, marshals and sponsors for making it possible, grand job.

Pity we couldn't make it today for the 2nd part, broke something in my front diff in that bloody big mud bath, never mind there's always next year.

Well done to the winners.

Having now investigated the issue in my front axle it appears to be the CV Joint & half shaft, so from this -

To this -

CV Joint in bits  ::), my navigator told me not go for it! Should've listened to her :D
