Hi as above im after the top gear change unit to change over my Discovery R380 into a Defender one.

Basically everything from the Gasket up.

As well as the Quadrant fork from inside the gear box. (FTC4585)

The disco r380 can be converted to work in a defender. Do a google search for the details.

Sorry Tom, my reply came over wrong, is the quadrant lever not the same as an LT77 one?

Have you had the adaptor made up to extend the selector shaft.

Im unsure of that one mate could well be!

I have a friend with a metal lathe so when the time comes he will make some thing up to extend the selector shaft

Yes but the gear lever will still sit farther back than normal for a defender. Just so you are aware

defender r380's & discovery R380s have the same length of bellhousings,

your thinking of the shorty R380 which was an interim box that was used as a replacmemtn for the short lt77

Haha i actualy remember measuring my 110 R380 and my discovery one now.... both the same   

I will post up a in depth Topic once I find the remaining parts for my conversion guys

I stand corrected, didn't realise they all changed to the same unit in the end!
