Caravan Names....

{Rant On} At the risk of offending our intrepid tin-tenters - where on Earth do they get the names from - and Why ??  I can cope ith the "Ranger" or the "Pageant" - but the flaming "Fire-Storm" I found myself following today was anything but. Nothing firey about its performance and the only Storm in sight was the earful I'd have given the lane-hogging slowcoach pulling the damn thing.... >:( >:( >:(. {Rant Off}

mine says senator  but i have to agree some people tow them with way under powered cars or more likely they are way overloaded with c***.
some of the advice on towing is a bit stange as well , my caravan is 26foot long twin axle, i tow it with a td5 disco but according to the caravan club its ideal tow car is a 2 litre mondeo and they dont recomend a disco , some b******* about the torque curve being wrong

Probably they do see a 2 Lt Mondeo as being perfect...for achieveing the 37mph that the clown in front of me achieved as a "top speed".  Too slow for the rest of us, failing to pull over to let anyone pass and enough oncoming traffic that it was impossible to overtake for over 10 miles.  Makes me come over all "Clarkson".  ;D

Not all of as dawdle along at pensioner speeds, everytime I get somewhere with mine everything seems to be lying on the floor! (Discovery 3 towcar, plenty horsepower!)
I can understand the frustration that folk can cause, particularily when they have that "I own the road too" mentality and don't pull in. What hacks me right off is the clowns that see a caravan and get this mental block that they just have to overtake it, as they assume they are going to being held up. What usually transpires is then some of the most ridiculous and dangerous overtaking you are ever likely to see and then once they are in front of me they slow back down and end up holding me up!! ::)

Having a bad start to the week Mr. Meldrew Maxwell?  ;D
