My restro/modding/outing thread
« on: May 12, 2012, 04:59:30 PM »
Well since buying my first 90/4x4 I went out for second time the other evening with a mate and his disco and had a brill time just thought I'd share some pics if thats ok

I'm not going to do anything major apart from a 300tdi engine, Disco 1 rear axle and general tidy up inside like water proofing as much as possible as my 5 yr old like going off roading as well and have to try and keep her as warm and dry as possible

right instead of starting 6 different threads which would probably annoy the hell out of everybody I'm just going to keep updating this thread on progress on the vehicle and pics from days out and general question.

So far
Good bits
Fixed the temp sensor
Fixed the throttle which must of had about 3" of play in it
Sorted the hole which was in the bottom of my filter as it was sucking water in rendering the snorkle useless

fixed the clock so that works but I would like the round clock which goes in the dash if anybody has or knows of one forsale

Bad bits
reverse light doesnt work buld and fuse fine though?
front bumper mount snapped
now has a nice dent in passanger wing due to incident on the last outing  :( (pics to follow)
probably need new chassie eventually
needs a good tidy up
bottoms of doors rusted

Thats All I can think of for now

Does anybody have a list of paint colours they did for defender as I'm after a blue but a darker one than mine which I have seen on a couple of 1990> ones and pics would be great thanks.

Well no real update as yet due to not being able to work on the 4x4 but did manage to pick a set of 5 of these up
I know the centre cap says range rover but the other 4 say landrover :)

Does anybody know if these will fit straight on my 90 there from a disco 1

Sorry, they won't fit over drum brakes. You'll need to swap to discs all round.

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

Oh on my last MOT it had a advisory of "Nsf backplate loose"
What is this then?

Actually it came with all of these but I think I got the rest figured out
Nsf backplate loose
Alt/belt slack
Propshaft component defective
Oil leak
Seapage at fr swivel balls
Leak at rr g/box transfer box at transmission brake drum
