Landrover 90 pickup
« on: January 03, 2012, 04:38:42 PM »
Hi

Just been looking at a 90 pickup diesel " B " reg which is for sale locally to me .
Not too sure what to offer him for it as he is looking for offers.

Chassis has been welded in a few places but seems ok. engine sounds ok and resonable dry around it.
has a two inch lift kit fitted but shockies are u/s due to rust on the stems.
body work is complete but scruffy and hand painted. also has winch bumpers fitted but no winches.

MOT has expired a couple of months ago and has no road tax.

any ideas?

The other 1977 R reg one in your other post was last  taxed in 1992.

Regarding this one.
If you post the area you are in, someone local that knows about LR's might be able to look it over with you & give an opinion on it.

Good luck in your search.

Yip the one on gumtree has sat in the guys garden for a good few years and does require quite extensive welding . but may be what somebody is looking for.

Exposing myself to ridicule again - but start at the scrap value, say ?250. My line would be "if its that good why not MOT it yourself ?"
If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

Not a bad shout IMO, depends how far off MOT standard it is. If you can get it for sub ?400, with a budget of up to ?2k you could rebuild on a new chassis and have a lot of life out it.
