Comp safari - vehicle noise?

is there a max noise level for comp motors?

Pretty sure it has to be below 100db. So most cars are about the 94,96,98 db
Sure someone else will confirm this though.

Yep, it's MAX 100db........so most cars are around the 99db mark!!!  ;D

Serious moment .... Just had MRI scans  to check just how bad my hearing is - but I've got a definite diagnosis of noise induced hearing loss. Anything over 85 Db for any length of time is going to damage your hearing - and a 100 Db noise is 10 times more intense than a 90 Db noise. A "good weekend" could leave you with knackered hearing for life.

its upto 100db if you are standing with your ear to it but that is never going to happen, when you are inside the car you wont get the full noise of the exhaust

I tested this theory once, at the end my hearing was ok, i burnt my ear tho' ;D

100db(A), at 0.5m (angled at 45 degrees from the exhaust port), with no large reflective objects within 3m.

Generally, the Scottish Comps do a sound-check once competitors have had time to warm their engines.
