Has any one any advice on a cheap solution to a rev gauge for a td5 defender , i have been on ebay and demon tweeks and have noticed the gauges are not compatible with 5 cylinder engines and looked at marine gauges which have a rev limit of 3000 well below the TD5's limit. I'm not interested in buying the devon 4x4 one at ?273.07 which was found in the heritage model with a white background.

Try a company called croytec they do them, genuine ones and non gen just over a hundred quid from memory

 thanks for the link ,Croytec ?155 vdu rev counter and loom against ?232 for genuine rev counter still abit pricey, there must be a cheaper option using the w terminal on altenator still open to ideas folk have went down ?

a td5 doesnt have a "w" terminal on the alternator, the rev counter is fed from the ecu 

found a page on converting a td5 altenator to have a w terminal on http://www.lro.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=52832 it is german but converted it to english using microsoft word

where does it tell you the prices? I quite fancy one myself now

eeek at that price I don't think I'll bother
