Marshals Invitation to this unique Hill Rally, R.S.V.P.
The SHRC are pleased announce that the Scottish Border Hill Rally is taking place on the 19th & 20th November 2011 at The Forrest Estate, St johns Town of Dalry, New Galloway.
Some of you will be familiar with the venue as it has played host to both the Scottish Cross Country Championship, the British Cross Country Championship earlier in the year, it has hosted numerous rally test days and previously the Solway Coast/Forrest Estate Rallies. The venue has certainly got a motorsport pedigree that we can all enjoy, the 2011 Borders Hill Rally will see competitors compete in sixteen stages over two days, comprising some 100 miles and with only 24 liaison miles of public roads (No road tax or mot needed).
The SHRC club have acknowledged that despite the general downturn in entries for motorsport events, our own event continues to be supported by the competitors. At this time we have approximately 40 entries, a little down on previous years! With about 20 days to the event we anticipate that this will rise further, however the Scottish Hill Rally Club are fully committed to preserving the experience that a ?Scottish Hill Rally? provides and accordingly the club committee have agreed that the event will run.
In order to help us preserve the ?Scottish Hill Rally? we really do need your help to staff the event. At the moment marshal numbers are significantly lower than last year and we really would appreciate you digging deep to help the event, you may think the event is a little different to what your used to but I can assure it?s well worth it. Were needing both In Stage Marshals and Radio Marshals, willing volunteers whether experienced or not most welcome.
The Venue is self contained with a central service and HQ location:
http://www.multimap.com/s/MbvY2TbCUnlike most other 4x4 events most of the marshals positions are accessible by road car as we running on standard Cat a forest roads as used by car rallies.

www.scottish-hillrally.co.uk there are more details of other accommodation available in the area along with full details on the event.

The Scottish Hill Rally Club would welcome your support in running the event. In order that we can allocate crews to the most appropriate positions, we would appreciate when replying if you could let us know.
