110 clutch

110 clutch

whats the best clutch to fit to a 110 i see they list heavy duty etc, the clutch was replaced a year ago before i got the motor but i think it was a cheapy, its very heavy and the release bearing is noisy.

I fitted a 130 clutch to the 300tdi convertion in my 110 and paid extra for a full metal caged release bearing. Very nice feeling when fitted absolutly no slipping even when giving the truck the full beans  ;D make was borg and beck
1988 Defender 110 300tdi. Bit of an animal.
1998 Defender 90 300tdi. The new pup.

did the metal release bearing come in the kit or was that separate?

Hi Richard

 I had a problem with the clutch being very heavy to operate on my TD5, I resolved it by fitting a modified clutch return spring & bushes to the pedal assembly, taking the original off. The parts were readily available from the local L/R dealer.

There was an article in one of the mags recently on this. I just went for a bigger thigh than the other  :D

The clutch kit comes with a standard release bearing the metal one was seperate. Paddocks.
sure the clutch kit was ?65 and the metal release bearing ?25
