hi all took my 90 to the clog for a days off roading great day but on the way home the steering feels very wierd tight then slack, vauge on a corner ,just not right ! been under it and can find no play in anything at the front kingpins,trackrods,ect all fine just the pannard rod bushes are shot the rod is moving a bit when steering left to right would this be the prob ? or do you feel i'm missing something thanks for taking the time to read

Your symptoms often point to a siezed knuckle on the steering column

bent steering damper       your pan hard rod bushes but that has the efect of the body moving side to side on the axle     and as geoff says the stearing knuckle but that gives  a different effect to the other two problems not disimilar to the effect you are describing

cheers guy's damper and shaft are both new and straight however i'll give them a good check out in the morning thanks for the pointers
