Leaf Spring RTVs
« on: July 05, 2011, 01:31:45 PM »
Hi just a quick one,

Could I compete in RTVs (when I'm ready!) and be eligable for points, as my land rover doesn't have a land rover engine in it?

Does that disqualify me?

Thanks

Yes, you can play for points, as a rule was introduced in the club many years ago to allow non land rover engines in RTV vehicles. I think the proviso was that they be roughly the same spec and nobody was shoe horning massive engines under the bonnet!

Come on Steve tell the full story.

A 19J with a big valve head, skimmed 150 thou, twin turbo conversion and an LPG kit to improve the flame front speed. the td5 intercooler has a water spray system fitted to further cool the charge temp and your looking for 190 bhp.
Is the fishing net thats between the front chassis legs going to be strong enough to catch the pistons and rods or is it just to snag the gearbox bits on the way out?
Looking forward to seeing it in next months LRO int.
Drew.  ;)
