Have you carried out the bleeding procedure?

Turn the ignition on and pump the pedal six times right to the floor within 10 secconds, let it complete the bleed cycle(the pump will come on and off a few times, the engine light will also flash) I would do this twice then turn ignition till it fires, should be fine then.

What made you think the pimp was faulty? if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking badly then that would also stop the car starting.

Hi Colin, l'll try what you said when l come home from work later, see if that works.
I just assumed  that it might be the pump because of the noise it was making, was trying to rule out different things it could be b4 l placed it in the docs.
So why would she just stop running last week if l cant see any leaks from anywhere??
By the way, yeh they 'pimps' are a bugger when they leak :D :D.
Thanks Colin, much appreciated

Starting procedure is as follows-

Turn ignition to "on" for 30 seconds, turn off for 15 seconds, repeat 6 times.
Turn engine over with accelerator depressed fully, once firing smoothly release pedal to half.

Also, have you changed your fuel filter? Caused problems for me in the past

I found with my TD5 that the priming technique of ignition on and pump the pedal 5 times (you will hear the pump run & go through a cycle) had to be done more like 6 times.  Have a battery charger to hand ;)
