I have a 1995 BMW 525 tds 6 cylinder deisel and am toying with the idea of putting the engine into my Defender 90, I think this is the same engine that was used in the P38 Range Rover, does anyone know if this is practical or even possible, I know that all the electronics will have to be transplanted as well, also the bell-housing would have to be changed for a shorter one to allow for the extra length of the BMW engine to be mated with the R380 gearbox.
Any advice would be apprieciated, thanks in advance.
