3.9 V8 wiring
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:19:22 PM »
Hi

Looking for someone who could wire a 3.9 hot wire injection engine into a 2.5d  90.
the engine and gearbox are fitted in a rolling chassis with bulkhead and harnesses in place just need someone who has a clue how to get it to run.

forgot to say I am in East Ayrshire.

thanks

did you get the ecu and relays with the engine?
did you get a coil for the v8?
is the gearbox auto?

you will need to have a pressurising pump in the petrol tank and the wiring for it is controlled by the ecu and a relay.
if it is an auto the inhibit and reverse switch needs to be wired into your existing wiring (for reversing lights etc)

the ecu and stuff for the 3.9 should be almost self contained, so it really only needs + power(from ignition switch) and ground.
the -ve gnd of the coil needs connected to the ecu as well.

the output from the petrol pump should go to the injector rail.
the output from the injector rail (just after the regulator) should go back to the tank.

Important things like.
Earlier EFI system is only 4 pin plug between the EFI & the main wiring loom,
later version with a catalyst has a 8 pin plug which has additional speed
& load inputs from the main loom.

I knew that,
then forgot it untill i read it on another forum this morning.

Hi

Thanks for the reply`s , I have the complete donor vehicle so I should have everything I need. It would be great to get it done cheap but some thing in life you have to pay for.

Have a nice warm garage and tea and coffee on tap for willing participants. Any help would be appreciated.

cheers
