Hi All,

Just testing the water here - I might be wanting to get hold of either a 110 (not a pick-up, a van or station wagon) around '97 plate or Discovery 1 around '98 plate - would prefer a 300Tdi but might consider a V8 if it has LPG conversion or 200Tdi - am not interested in the TD or smaller petrol ones.

It's needed for towing a large genset.

Needs to have a good long MOT and be great if it was taxed + would like something that's quite tidy.

Might consider a jap make but it will need to be very good.

Don't have a lot in the budget to buy, say between ?2k and ?3K

Please don't suggest a clapped out Disco or 110 for silly money as I'll see all the faults with them

youve got between 2 n 3 , i could take the upper end of that if the cars right for u and a know shes gonna be looked after a dont think youll find a cleaner one , you could speak to george at gemm 4x4 hes seen it and can confirm how clean she is , hes just done the injector pump so he should remember it

I'm selling a v8 disco. It's an m reg though. Reimported from France so very clean. It's on here on the next page. Loads of mot and acouple months tax. No LPG though. It's an es model. 

Tambo - I'll have a chat with the guy's at Gemm, they're just down the road from me - saying that it would have to be closer to the lower end of what I want to spend as it's an auto which won't help the fuel bills.

Python - I've had a look at your advert before but was put off by the age and milage + no mention of MOT + no LPG, it just wouldn't be worth fitting LPG due to the age and mileage.

I'm sure they're both great motors but there are a load out there at the momet + a load more going to hit the market once people get fed up with looking at them on the drive

No problem. Mine has mot till aug I think. The age is the only thing that lets it down though. Good luck in your search. I'm sure you will find something.

?2-3 K, not clapped out, tidy, taxed and long MOT ?  You forgot to add galv chassis, stainless exhaust and new tyres..... :-)

I doubt you'll get a decent Defender for that, Disco is the way forward - and you'll not want a P38 after you get the first repair bill.

A have a nice shogun 2.8 auto diesal only ?1500 so plenty left for fuel chassis is mint and runs sweet tidy body

@ LBART - Hi Lee, Thanks for your post. It's a shame that the Pajero is the SWB version or I might of been tempted - we need more space hence LR110 or Disco or P38. I know these quite well as the other half has had a couple (both imports too). You're right about plenty left for fuel, there would need to be as they don't half go through it - only car that I've had that's worse on fuel is a V8 RR classic towing a 3 tone trailer up the motorway at full tilt. Anyway thanks for the offer.
