Help with value
« on: January 09, 2011, 09:10:48 AM »
Hi Guys,

I'm needing a bit of help with putting a value on my Land Rover.  It's a 1990 2.5td 90 hard top which I have recently put onto a galv chassis and have repainted.  All panels are straight and the engine has only done 92000.  Interior wise theres 2 new seats and a CD stereo fitted.

Does anyone have a clue, as just browsing ebay etc there are some complete sheds going for ?2500+ which makes me think I could get a bit more but then again it's what someone is willing to pay!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Robin

The weather is helping push up the value of 4x4's in general at the moment so if you are thinking of selling, now is the time!  The galvanised chassis is a big bonus and if the bulkhead is sound along with the engine (as fit as a 2.5td ever can be) and the transmission I would have thought oiro ?3000  ???  (without seeing pictures).  Worth punting around the Land Rover forums (LRAddicts/LR4x4 etc) first before opening up the sale to the great(er) unwashed  ;)

Thanks for that, it does seem that demand is high! Unfortunatly im not in a position to sell it just yet, I want to replace it with a discovery and need to find the right one first.

When I was looking for mine 6 months ago there were quite a few H reg's, not on galvanised chassis but looking ok for ?4k plus, and they did't hang around long. I paid ?3.5K 1994 with no galvanised chassis and needing a few bits and bobs doing, and that was cheap.

Try autotrader/e bay to see what the current situation is, after a quick look there are 1989 90s at over ?4K, but if you ain't in a hurry you can always start high and work your way down if there is no interest. Remeber, people will travel a long way for the right car.
