First PROPER recovery today!
« on: December 06, 2010, 08:23:44 PM »
Nothing to do with the response team, but I did do my good samaritan bit for the day!

Guy in a kia, and a wee lady in a focus(IIRC) totally stuck right across a junction, both digging furiously!

I stopped and asked if they needed help as they were nowhere near a town, "let me have one more try" was the reply from the guy.
Then came "yeah, could use a hand". The guy didnt have a clue about a towing eye, so after a rummage in the back of the disco, i found one that fitted. "You`re very well equipped" said the lady(yeah, I`ve heard that before ;D) so got clipped up, hazards on, gently bentley and got them both moving. They definitely would have given me tea and biscuits if we`d been near their houses!!! ;D

Need to get all the registration(january, as advised by Bob Hatcher), insurance etc done before we display signs and operate mate.
Once I/we get the forms etc. I mentioned printed up, we can arrange he first meeting and get people enrolled/insured and up to date.

LOL how is old Andy these days? Still upto mischief it seems ;)

No recoveries today, a few yesterday. Helped dig a spun out fiesta blocking the way for an Ambulance on the road tonight. BTW don't try and go along the M9 spur, its a car park!

Seen it on the news mate! Looks dire!
Done lots of digging out in the past week or so, loads of towing in the past, but today was my first stuck vehicle(s) recovery

No recoveries for me but my neighbours have now adopted a new tactic to get help from us. I got home to find that two different families had asked SWMBO for a loan of her RAV4. The 2nd one had it for more than 3 hours as he tried to collect his wife in Edinburgh! Even asked her for the jeep whilst I was at work!!
