and you thought bripart was bad
« on: June 25, 2010, 06:53:57 PM »
i changed the oil and filters on my td5 last week, i usually use genuine parts however paddocks sent me their "quality" alternatives at a cheaper price as they were out of genuine. consisting of a britpart rotor filter and an efl branded oil filter five days on there was a weird noise from the engine when switching off, reading the web seems to be a common problem with the britpart rotor filter so i went and bought a new set from the local stealer no difference, then removed the main oil filter and found it has collapsed inside with bits of metal rattling about inside, so beware of these efl branded filters i would hate to think of the damage that could have been done if a bit went down an oil pipe

How do you know that a bit hasn't?!

Thanks for the warning though.
