Thinking about buying a Freelander Automatic but no cruise control.  Can this be fitted retrospectively as can be done on the Discovery 2?  Any help much appreciated.

My best suggestion would be " Don't buy a Freelander". A 4X4 that tries to look like a car....and achives neither aim well.

Gene if they work they are very capable off road cars,GRR and TYRO,I have driven jumbos and was impressed but its a hands off experience....buy a defender :)

No don't by a defender, buy my freelander its an auto, keep yer fit in the same place, just like cruise control, joking aside thinking of selling mine, want to get a animal truck and a wee 90

a car during the week regardless of rain, snow, ice. infact driving in this winters snow was positively boring. even left rangeys spinning thier wheels. leave other motors staring in disbelief at the weekends as you saunter through the mud as though it wasnt there....oh the joys ;D ;D

dont know about adding c/c i never bother bout that, just use my right foot lol

Hi
 I had 5 very satisfactory years service from my Freelander 1. I found it to be very good in snow and in general use including motorway use. I am now on a freelander 2 which is a very good vehicle. It cruises @ 2000RPM @ 70mph in 6th gear which gives around 35 plus mpg. In short a very good vehicle. I also run a TD5 110 for Rally Recovery work again a very good vehicle but not my first choice for long distances (around 25 mpg).
 The Freelander 1 coped very well with up to 2 ft of snow last winter so they are a much underestimated vehicle!

Allan, I agree, I've had mine at bathgate, grr and the snow at carstairs which was negative 22 and four feet in places, no issues. I done everything at bathgate that the discos did and never damaged a thing, I need a truck bed double cab, if not I wouldn't get rid of the freelander 1, 53 plate on a 04, 41k, second one I've had with no problems
