As above i am restoring a 110 and curious what gauge i should be using ??

So far i have done all repairs in 2mm..

Is that sufficent as i have ran out of steel and am about to purchase more.

Hi Bill
The couple of chassis that Geoff and I have shortened, we used 3mm steel plate. But that was structural for joining the two halves of chassis together. I guess 2mm would be ok for patching holes as the chassis steel is pretty thin anyway.

As above, 2 or 3 mm should be fine!

the spec from land rover on their official manuals is 2mm.

but some of the suspension outriggers/ mounts are thicker.

Hi
I am going to hijack this thread ;)
I have recently got a RRC, which is needing a repair to the drivers footwell. What thickness of steel should I use to patch the floor?
I was thinking of getting 1.5 - 2 mm sheet but when I seen that it has been recommended 2mm for chassis I thought that might be too thick for the floor?

Cheers
Graeme

Cant you just buy complete footwell? its a bit more work I imagine but may last longer and look neater to the mot man.

I remember thinking they were not to expensive.

Hi No not for a RRC. You'll hardly see the patch and it's not really that bad.
