Series 3 brake issue
« on: December 26, 2020, 05:45:56 PM »
Festive greetings. I've been a member of the SLROC for a year or so now and this is my first post.

I've a 1971 Series 3 with single line braking system. I've renewed all brake system components and have an issue where the brakes are either dragging on the drums or, with a slight adjustment at the brake shoe adjuster and a small adjustment at the master cylinder adjuster,  there are no brakes at all though with a few pumps of the brake pedal, the brake comes up for a short period with air bubbles visible in the brake fluid reservoir.

The brake shoe adjusters are adjusted correctly.  I've bled the brakes numerous times.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Johnny

Hi John.
If you have bubbles then you have a leak.
Buy a Gunsons eezibleed kit. Pressurise the system and you will soon find it.

I have just been out in my shed to do a small job and even with two heaters on it was still Baltic. I hope you have alternative transport.
