ALERT to all Comp Safari and CCV drivers.   Log books are needed for these disciplines and have a lifetime of 5 years. After that an update check is needed.  Also if you have changed the colour or otherwise the appearance or changed address or owner then your logbook will need updating. As there is little chance of returning to active competitions until at least well into January, or beyond, please get in touch with George McLay or myself to get up to date.  Please note that contrary to rumours there are presently no alterations needed to current roll cage designs. Do not alter your cage without speaking to us first as a new log book would be needed for such alterations.   Michael Bruce. Log Book Scrutineer.

Is this one of the rumours? Just looking over the online 2021 Blue Book, and the specifics for timed trials under rule 58.1.7, does rule 56.14.9 apply to existing cages? My currently logged 80" trialer does not have a manufactured hard top or truck cab fitted so is it still acceptable to have bent longitudinal bars connecting the front and rear hoops as per drawing ?

On existing cages, the side bars may have bends at each end of not more than 4 inches offset as per the ALRC handbook.

To clarify, even if the logbook is still in date do I need to have an annual check over for the vehicle even if nothing significant has changed? Same colour etc as it was when it was logbooked.

Log Books are valid for 5 years unless alterations to the vehicle are made. Checking in between is pre event scrutineering where the presence of the log book is the first item to enable confirmation of class entered etc.
