motorhome advice/inspiration needed
« on: March 15, 2018, 08:17:47 PM »
Hi All
I know this is not landrover related but most of us own other makes and drive different work vehicles.

I am looking for advice and inspiration on a base vehicle for a motorhome build.  Not looking to do a standard van body conversion as i find them a bit cramped. Hoping to do something more motorhome sized, box body on rear that sort of idea.

I would like a MWB ish as trying to keep the build around about the 6 meter mark.

Also looking for RWD and twin rear wheels for better load carrying and driving.

It can be over 3.5 ton as i have older licence.

I have been looking at ford transit and iveco daily as there the most common van about, but also very rusty even less than 10 years old. I don't mind a bit of tin worm if the price is right.  any other make/models suggestions would be a help or WHY for sale or know about.

Many thanks

Shug

I did think about that and an ambulance conversion but i want something a bit bigger. don't want to make a bed every night and build a table every time i want to eat. can't afford a factory build so time for another big project  ;D.

I have experience of a Renault Master with a 200TDi conversion, very good, being a front wheel drive it had a nice low load bed and plenty of headroom inside.

I also had an ex-OAP home VW LT which was very good, had enough width to sleep across ways which was a real space saver.
