Does anybody know of a supplier of Bowden control cable parts in the Glasgow area? The mower needs a new choke cable and it is NLA. Went to a bike shop but they only had stranded cores rather than a solid single core.

Any pics of what your after? My work will probably have  or be able to get you something suitable,

Would it work with braided if you put a big spring on for the return?  Choke won't be on for long - you could hold it against the spring.

look for bonnet release cables they tend to be solid

Defender heater cables are solid inside and probably about the right lenth, cheap too

Thanks for all your suggests. I found a universal fit one in one of the miscellaneous boxes of junk in the garage. No idea why I had it or when I bought it but the faded price tag was 95p! Works a treat.
