Td5 fuel gauge
« on: May 10, 2016, 03:17:17 PM »
The fuel gauge on my td5 110 is starting to play up. Sometimes its ok, other times it reads off the scale of fullness and will at some point in the journey go to correct.
I suspect its an earth wire, but where do we look in this circuit?

may not be the same for you but when mine did similar it turned out to be the sender in the tank. it has a small braided wire that allows the movement of the float it was almost broken off, i stripped a bit outer  braid from cb cable and replaced it been ok since

Hello,

I had a similar problem where the fuel-gauge kept reading low and it turned out to be a corroded earth-strap to the ECU.  I put in a new earth cable direct from the battery to the ECU and that sorted it (and a load of other problems).
