Family member whats to ugrade from Freelander 1 to a Freelander 2 and asked me to look at them so any infor on them wood be good please.
Living with, faults anything thanks.

Rear pads seize in the carriers
Handbrake expanders inside the brake drum seize up
Big appetite for wheel bearings, and rear diff bearings
Manuals tend to suffer from burst slave cylinders, and DMF issues
Power steering can be noisy. Campuses are either a blocked reservoir filter, or steering rack
Early cars had issues with poor connections at the tank sender unit
Cam belts is due at 150k/10 years

Could be worse

 Had two of them from new, had none of the defects noted by the previous respondent, much better than Freelander 1 which I had previously. Now on a Range Rover Evoque also with no issues.

See previous similar post.  Had mine ex demonstrator for 8 years, 54,000 miles.  Just replaced tyres for 2nd time. None of above faults, in fact no faults to speak of.  Boot a bit small, fuel average only about 30mpg, auto, diesel. Recent review in LRO of Evoque v Disco Sport finished with saying they'd sooner have an F2.  I really like this intelligent auto box, I believe it's essential for off road use as there's no low range. Excellent all-round tool, possibly the best such I've owned. Nigel
