Tyro and RTV on 26th April at Torrance

Next tyro and RTV on 26th April at Torrance
. Set up for both events 7am. Scrutineering 8:30 to 9:30. Event commencing at 10.

Torrance is situated on the A807 which runs between Milngavie and
Kirkintilloch, the site is located up a maze of back roads, so the
route in will be clearly marked with orange arrows heading north off
the A807 at the west side of Torrance. Site access is at OS Ref.
591758 Sheet 64.

Hello Robert,

No problem coming along to spectate and watch.

To take part you would have needed to have signed the paperwork and had your LR scrutineered, which is a basic safety check, at the start of the day.   (If the basic mechanicals make the vehicle roadworthy and suitable for an MOT I wouldn't expect a problem with the scrutineering😃)   Unfortunately, therefore, it would not be possible to enter part way through the day.

A TYRO is not demanding on the driver or vehicle and I would encourage anyone to give it a go.   Most people find it is the best £15 worth of entertainment they can spend!!!   If at any point you feel uncomfortable you can sit out or if you would like some advice, plenty of people will be more than willing to give it.   Also if at any point you would like an experienced TYRO competitor as a passenger there will be plenty of volunteers.

It is a freelander 2 td4, it is road worthy just had it MOTed last month

If you wanted to give it a go you would be absolutely fine - I started in a Freelander 2 👍

Hi. Not been along to an event for ages and bringing two friends. One to become a member.

Will it be possible to do a tyro and the RTV? Or are they being run simultaneously?

Hi Ken,

The two events will be run at the same time, so not possible to do both in the same car.

Dogs can come along, no problem.    We will meet in a field that in the past has had sheep in, so a lead would required.   However, we move across to another area where there may be a bit more freedom.

Evening all

We are hoping to come along and do the tyro in the morning. Just sent membership form off earlier in week so won't have anything back. Hope this isn't a problem?

We'll be in a green Defender 90 van.
