I have not seen any posts around this subject, however I am sure that many landy lovers on here will also be lovers of the outdoors.

It would be good to find out who is into wild camping/bushcraft and overnight camps. Scotland has some beautiful hills, mountains, and woodland, yet there is not a massive passion for outdoor camping etc the same as in england. Scotland is lucky enough to have the right to access law, so would be good to find a group of people who also share similar interests alongside some good car chat.

I recently purchased myself a hammock camp setup, so I am excited to get out and try that.

Has anyone else tried hammock camping?

You are right, there are a fair few of us who enjoy camping and many folk camp or caravan overnight at some of the event sites. The one problem I'd expect with a hammock in Scotland would be the lovely Midge. At least in a tent you can shut the door on most of them :-)
If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

Haha very true, I bought it from a local Scottish company who produce them and it comes with a fitted midge net so fingers crossed it does the job. Usually when out camping I try to avoid the woodlands etc to stay away from midges however I'm going to have to venture into the trees to set the hammock up so could be interesting.

Hi mate I've been hammock camping for years , it's the best sleep I've ever had when been away have used in summer and winter and it's great once set up properly for the way you want to sleep. Never had any problems with midges as I have the net fitted to mine , if it's a DD then it's a good bit of kit .

Cheers Iain

I'm keen for some camping trips maybe even a bit of paddling if there's other who paddle. Land rovers, canoeing, camping and bloody biking had to be all the expensive hobbies I like and that's just to name a few. Hammocks are great saying that only used it in France so it was bloody mozzies out there.

Yeah its one or the dd hammock and tarp setups I got.

Never tried paddling however I have a boat and jet ski so can understand your love of the water. Any decent hobby is costly. Thankfully they all go hand in hand.
