Thinking (again) of going from stage rallying to comp safaris and hill rallies and am looking for advice/ideas/information. How many events of this sort are in Scotland/North of England. What sort of vehicle should I be starting with , full independent offroad racer , live axles , 88" or 100" , engine back , engine in front ?? What ?
I am assuming 100" is better and more stable for fast stuff and 88" better for trials type sections. Should I start off with axles or go for indepdendant ?
See various specs for sale at various prices . Dont want to spend too much initially incase I dont like it but at same time will spend more if better spec and easier to sell if I do go back to rallying. Also dont want not to spend enough and find I really like it and its not fast enough for me ( likely to be the case !)
Heading down to Border Hill rally to marshall so will speak to a few down there and see there is at least one car competing there that is for sale .
Any advice gratefully received
Cheers
George
