Disco 2 making a strange noise behind heater controls

Hi Guys

my mate has a 2001 disco 2 td5 and it has started making a whiring buzzing noise from behind heater controls.

Heater motor is quiet.

any ideas would be great.

only 2 thing i can think of that whirrr is the rotoray oil filter or if it has climate control threr is a small fan to the right of the steering wheel that gets cloged up with dust

Should have mentioned it only happens occasionally when he goes over a bump and its just had two front hubs fitted. cars in bits any help PLZ
