The time has come to order a new chassis for my 90.

looking for a galvanised one - with 200 TDI mounts

Obvious choices are marslands and richards coming in at about 1300-1500 + delivery.

i recall someone in scotland supplying chassis in the bathgate area ? any ideas.

since delivery comes in at around 250 quid to my location a road trip through scotland would be preferable.

I borrowed a trailer and went to pick mine up from Marsland.

i live in aberdeen

i had considered it but its a fair drive to madchester towing a trailer and back from aberdeen. infact its a fair drive to glasgow and back with a trailer !

i think strathearn in auchterarder do them as do tay landrovers also in auchterarder, but they dont stock them and wait on orders for five or so to make it worthwhile transporting

If a quoted defender window seal an fitment @ £197 from strathearn is anything to go by i would be avoiding them like a plague, on the other hand TAY land rovers has been very helpful in the past and will be getting my landy chassis replacement hopefully at the end of this year...

Still have to strip mine down next week and check its even worthy of a chassis !

Just thinking it would be good if you were to try and take some pics as you get to different stages of your strip down and possible chassis replacement.
Even listing the new parts you will be fitting so that members can get a realistic idea of costs involved..

Forgot about that dave , followed that first time round , your bulk head looks worse than i remember mine being, i might just weld it up.

Im getting married in july 2015 .....thats my dead line for this.... I work adhoc offshore so it will probably take all that time haha

I would imagine they would need some welding though, surely engine mounts at least are different between 200, 300 tdi TD5 and TDCi

I wouldn't weld on a galv chassis defeats the purpose of the galv they might have all type or either they don't know what there selling

at nearly half the price i wouldnt mind welding the engine mount, when did you last see rotten engine mounts?

done mine 18 years ago for a 200 tdi then 4 years later i was swapping for a 300 tdi
i welded the 300 mounts on and even welded antiroll bar supports to the galvy chassis
sprayed with galvy spray when finnished never looked back chassis mounts ect are still as good as the day i done
them

in the process of doing 2 130 landys now
