Local supplier for Insa's
« on: February 14, 2014, 02:59:03 PM »
Just back from Forsyths of Denny with my new 19 inch GG ATs. Very impressed with the service, price and tyre, and they do look good. Whilst I was waiting they just kept plying me with coffee.

Their prices are very good for the ATs, and for the defender owners, they do 235/85 16 Special Tracks for £108 fitted, the cheapest elsewhere (that I can see) is £94 delivered, by the time they are fitted thats at least £104, so it is well worth the drive I think to get the peace of mind of a local supplier.

They are about 2 miles from Stirling services towards Denny (from the south you pass them on the M80 at the 1 mile to services marker.

I suppose now I need to expand my excuses list for the Tyros!

These will be the people who told me my Insurance write-off 90 had been scrapped, completely broken up. Odd that it then turned up on a fellow club-members front drive, entire and whole albeit a tad battered....

Not been back near them since.

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

They aren't a scrappy any more, and their service was as good or better as any more expensive chain at a far better price.  I'm sure we all have places we wouldn't go back to, shields (now another Taggarts) is mine.

I've used FOD for years for tyres and car parts when they were a scrappy. And now through work I use their flatbeds, hiabs, low loaders and cranes. Great service, experience and price. For my GG ATs (215/65x16) they were about a tenner less than anywhere on the net.

Just saying - they lied outright to me ( and VOSA I imagine...) and got right shirty when I complained.  I have a long long memory for that sort of thing !

 ;D

I now buy tyres online and get my local garage to fit them.

I couldn't have bought on line and fitted at their price, and if you have a problem lot easier to go to whoever sold them if local!

I was in Forsyths the other day and spotted a notice saying as of 25th April 2014 the tyre department will be closing. Better get there soon if you want to take advantage of inexpensive tyres.
