Boxing Day Bash/ ALRC Rules
« on: November 27, 2013, 10:16:39 AM »
Hi

I'm considering driving up from London for the bash, but I'm just wondering what is meant by: Please note as due to the new rules from the ALRC this is for Landover’s only that comply with the ALRC rule book.

Can someone give me the rundown on said rules? Or do I need to source a copy of the rulebook.

Thanks

Thomas

In essence, the vehicle needs to be the right dimensions for the vehicle is proports to be (so no bob-tailed rangies), to match the silhouette of a land rover (to the capping line - so no tray-backs), be constructed from land rover parts (or OEM or equivalent, parts - so no GM V8 Diesel), and not have any banned accessories (such as locking diffs)

does this only apply to the bash? or is it going to be applied across all events?

ps i remember the year a mini van won it and a mid engined volkswagon entered.

This applies to all events bar the Scottish Comps Safari Championship and the driving days.

This is an unwritten rule that the ALRC has had for many years - however the ALRC has intruduced the rule formally: see rule 5 here - http://www.alrc.co.uk/new%20regulations/sectionu.htm

So basically, because of the Ford V6 I have in my 109 I can't take part in anything other than driving days?

Surely ALRC rules are not being applied to Green Road Runs as well . . . ?

We don't check vehicles other than ask that they are road-legal for GRR -They are not competitive events so there is no scrutineering.

Dontcha just love the knots people with clip-boards can tie themselves in....
