Just ordered up an oxy-propane burner. Phoned BOC to enquire about getting gas, they only offer rental services on the bottles. I'll be using it only occasionally, so I'd rather get a supplier who doesn't charge monthly rent.

I get my argon/CO2 from down south on a deposit basis, but the postage is killer and you have to get huuuge bottles. That's fine for the welder which gets a lot of use but I'd rather get small bottles locally for oxy/propane.

Anyone got any ideas for a supplier near dundee?

hi no one will give u oxy  any more  thay all pay rently on the bottles . getting propane shouldnt be hard too get likes   if u got a empty bottle  , i work for randolph gas in kirkcaldy  ad its got a lot harder to get gas likes if u dont have a accountu cant get it .  hope this helps u

Cheers folks. You were right, couldn't get oxy locally and I don't have an empty, cheers for the offer though scruff110.

Ended up getting it from weldequip, the guys I get welding gas from. Propane was no bother.
