RTV & Open Driving Day - Forrest Estate - 4th & 5th August
« on: July 24, 2012, 11:15:16 AM »
Over the weekend of 4th & 5th August we have a superb weekend event lined up at Forrest Estate in South Ayrshire. This massive 11,000 acre estate has played host to several RTV's and very popular Green Road Runs, but this is our first visit to make a full weekend of it.

And what an RTV this will be! There will be 10 trials section locations spread out over the estate, so much so that this event will also amount to a Green Road Run just to drive round to all the competition locations, along some great tracks with fantastic scenery! The driving day on the sunday will have over fify miles of tracks to explore!

Bring your tent or caravan and enjoy the full weekend with all this fantastic off roading on your door step. Camping area is available from Friday to Sunday and toilets will be on site all weekend.

All this action does take a lot of work to put it together, so if you can lend a hand to set this event up on Friday 3rd August please call Bobby Muir on 07799 744862  or send a PM to bobby
Remember any help counts towards earning your Championship points eligibility.

For further information or to volunteer your help with the RTV Trial call Stuart Moffat on 07721 639731

The programme for the weekend comprises;

FRIDAY 3rd AUGUST

•   Starting at 10.00am, Several hundred orange arrows, stakes and canes need to go in the ground, signs, car park, camping area, marquees, equipment trailer all have to be in place to make the event happen! Can you help? A bit of hammering, some stapling and lots of free off-road miles!

Hi Alan,  would it be OK to bring a trailered vehicle, i.e. no tax/test?

Thanks Kenny

Kenny,

It would be fine to bring a non road legal vehicle, but you would have to watch where you went as the single track tarmac road that runs through the estate is public highway, there will be maps with our signing on team and they will keep you right.

Confirming what a great place it is - HUGE Estate and MILES and MILES of tracks to drive. Well worth a hike to get there and even better if you make a weekend of it.

Pics from last GRR there...

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....
